Welcome to PyleHound. We are committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when using our search tool, PyleHound.

2.1 Data processing on our website www.pylehound.com
When you visit our website, our web server temporarily stores each access in a log file. The following data is collected and stored until it is deleted automatically:
- IP address of the requesting computer,
- Date and time of access,
- Name and URL of the accessed file,
- Notification of whether the retrieval was successful,
- Identification data of the browser and operating system used.
This data is processed for the purposes of enabling the use of the website (establishing a connection), system security, technical administration, network infrastructure and the optimization of the online offer. This data cannot be attributed to specific persons, and will not be merged with other data sources without consent. The data will also be deleted after a statistical evaluation.
The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
2.2 Data processing when registering at PyleHound
When you register or create an account for PyleHound, we may process the following categories of personal data:
- User Information: Name, E-mail address, employer and account credentials.
- Device and Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and other technical details.
- Payment information: bank account information, VAT number, tax number, internal ID-number.
- Login Data: Time stamps and other logs.
2.3 Data processing when using the PyleHound App
When you use PyleHound, we may process the following categories of personal data:
- User Information: Name, E-mail address, and account credentials.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with PyleHound, including logs, search queries, and document metadata.
- Device and Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and other technical details.
- Document content and prompts.
PyleHound does not process the content of documents unless actively submitted by the user for indexing and analysis.
We process your data for the following purposes:
- To provide and improve our search and document analysis functionalities. The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
- Processing of payments. The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
- To ensure security and prevent abuse. The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
- To comply with legal obligations. The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR.
3. Data Sharing and Transfers
We do not sell personal data to third parties. We do not share personal data with third parties, unless:
- It is required to incorporate Gemini, from Google Inc. as a Large Language Model (LLM) into your search. Any data transmitted to Gemini for processing is anonymized or pseudonymized where possible to minimize risks. Gemini is not trained with your search inquiries, results or the content of documents and does not store this information. - It is required for further service provision (e.g., cloud hosting providers under strict data processing agreements).
- It is legally required.
Where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we ensure an adequate level of data protection by selecting providers certified under the E.U. - U.S. Data Privacy Framework or having adequate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Furthermore, your personal data may be shared with third parties providing services to us or as required by law, including hosting providers, consultants, accountants, tax consultants, lawyers and tax authorities.
4. Events
When you register for a PyleHound Event (e.g. via LinkedIn) and provide your email address, we will use it solely to send you information related to the event (e.g. access link, organizational details, materials). After the event, we may also use your email address to provide you with further information and content on related topics and events that may be of interest to you.The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (performance of the event) as well as Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in direct marketing). You may object to the use of your data for marketing purposes at any time with effect for the future. Your data will not be shared with third parties and will only be stored as long as necessary for the purposes mentioned above.
5. Data Retention
Personal data is stored only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined above. User data may be deleted upon request, subject to legal retention obligations.
6. Data subject rights under the GDPR
Under the GDPR, you are entitled to the following statutory data subject rights, provided that the preconditions are met:
- Right to information about your data stored by us under Art. 15 GDPR.
- Right to correction of inaccurate data under Art. 16 GDPR.

- Right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority under Art. 77 GDPR if you believe that the processing of personal data concerning you violates the provisions of the GDPR.
